Recent Contracts and Clients
Government building complexes such as the Royal Courts of Justice and multi-site Ministry of Defence portfolios, call for an unparalleled level of security procedure and sensitivity to the requirements of the occupants. These are essential considerations which have become implicit on our approach through many years’ experience.
Health & Local Authorities
The challenges posed by a large operational hospital, such as St Thomas’ Hospital in central London, are many. Not least the fact that such an establishment does not and cannot close. By exercising sensitivity to the occupants and working closely with the facilities management, these logistical difficulties can be overcome.
More and more boroughs and housing associations are putting intricate layers of customer service charters and target achievement systems in place, and we strive to ensure that associated projects meet these standards. Particular consideration to the building occupants and tenants, and a minimum of disruption, is of paramount importance when working within schools or local authority housing.
Adams Environmental has been extensively involved with listed buildings, and those with particular historical or architectural interest. These include:
- the Natural History Museum
- the Central Criminal Courts on Old Bailey
- the Royal Society, Somerset House
- the Royal Albert Hall
- Tate Britain
- Tower Bridge
Such buildings necessitate a detailed understanding of their structure, and protection requirements of their internal building fabrics and finishes.
Site constraints call for a tight programme: such projects are often in the public eye and need to be carried out with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the building.
Within the private sector we have worked hard to provide rational guidance and solutions, which encompass both the legislation and the facilities manager’s budgetary constraints. Often this will involve a UK-wide property portfolio, for industrial, retail, leisure, financial and other commercial sectors. Clients include:
- Forte Hotels
- GAP (UK) Ltd
- Kodak Ltd
- Procter & Gamble
We have been closely involved with project managers on major refurbishment projects, and with facilities managers to improve and maintain their ongoing management programmes. Clients include:
- Cambridge University
- the London Institute
- City University
- London School of Economics
- Imperial College of Science, London
