The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004

SurveysAsbestos is defined as dangerous goods, as there is a risk that spillage involving asbestos may cause harm to people. The regulations aim to regulate carriage in such a way that risks are reduced as far as possible and incidents can be safely and effectively dealt with, but commerce is not impeded.

They place general duties on everyone with a role in the carriage of dangerous goods, and specific duties on those in the transport chain, i.e. consignors, carriers, loaders, packers, labeling, etc.
